The thing that limits your plugin use is the DAW, not the operating system. There are 64 bit Operating Systems, and 64 bit DAW. It's important to understand that "64 bit system" is a label that you causes confusion. so how can they run in Adobe, and not Presonus, if they are 32 bit, but I have a 64 bit machine? any help would be apprecieated. that I have an HP running windows 7 on a 64 bit platform, and in Adobe Audition my waves plug ins ran fine, but when I try to install them into Presonus, they don't show up in the effects rack. Ok, I understand that but my confusion is. I was wondering about the plug in issue, because what I read is that 32 bit plug ins wont run on a 64 bit system. I have been running Adobe Audition 3, and I recently switched to Presonus studio one. Wayne51663 wrote:Hi I have been reading posts on here about the 3rd party plug in issue. There's no real mention of this difference in the manual - is there somewhere which explains the pros and cons of each version, or is it just the plugin consideration?Ħ4-bit applications can use more memory then 32-bit applications (which can only handle a max of little under 4 GB). A bit like visiting a studio and finding a pile of things I've never used before! Doesn't matter, I'm happy with the bunch of plugs it comes with - I've never been fussy about them - I use whatever EQ, Comp, gates etc I'm given. So presumably that's 32bit? Didn't get an option when I installed, or maybe I did and have forgotten.
